Meet Julie Mekhail
Raised on a farm in New York, Julie Mekhail embarked on a journey that led her to become the founder of Nest Wealth Management. Her path began in the military, where she moved to Mississippi to study electronics and later to Colorado, working on radio systems in control towers and setting up public address systems for VIPs, including President Bush.
Julie’s pursuit of education continued as she earned her AAS in Electronics from the Community College of the Air Force. After marrying her husband, Tarek, an Army Captain, she attended the University of Colorado, majoring in business.
Throughout her life, Julie faced numerous challenges, including raising her prematurely born twin boys, Brian and Christian, and navigating their speech and motor skill development. Undeterred, she continued her education at the University of Phoenix and later the University of South Florida (USF).
From Farm to Finance, A Journey of Resilience and Success
Despite being informed that she would need additional language credits to graduate from USF, Julie persevered, earning her BS/BA in Finance from Thomas Edison State College with 188 credit hours. Her journey continued with multiple international assignments, including working at the U.S. Embassy in Egypt and Jordan along with visiting various European countries, India, China and South Africa.
Eventually, Julie found her true calling at a job fair in Pennsylvania, where she was drawn to a financial advisor’s focus on helping clients. She joined the company, studied for her Series 7 and Series 66 exams, and chose Florida as the location to open her own wealth management office.
After working with Ameriprise in Sarasota, Julie decided to focus on her passion for helping clients and founded Nest Wealth Management in March 2023. Julie’s resilience, diverse experiences, and dedication to her clients make her uniquely qualified to guide them on their financial journeys.
